Daily Reports & Breakfast | Prior to 7:00 a.m.
Prior to morning devotions, daily reports for the prior day are to be completed and handed to staff. Daily reports are described in our handbook under the section PROGRAM RULES & POLICIES.
Breakfast is the residents' responsibility. They are free to eat food provided by the house that has not been designated for the evening meal.
Devotions & Prayer | 7:00 a.m.
Tuesday - Thursday, 7:00-8:00, the house meets for devotions and prayer.
On Monday and Friday we meet from 7:00 to 9:30, plus or minus some time depending on our discussion. This time will be used for a house meeting which consists of personal “check-ins” and group discussions about personal and house issues.
House Chores | 8:00 a.m.
After the morning meeting, house chores are to be completed. The chore list is posted on the refrigerator, as our residents may have a different chore each week.
Laundry is part of their weekly chore list. If possible it is suggested that laundry be completed by 2:00 pm on the day assigned.
Assigned Studies | 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
After chores assigned studies are a priority. Depending what phase you are in after assigned studies are completed it may be time to go to work, school, search for a job or attend any other appointment a resident may have.
Lunch | 12:00 p.m.
Lunch is also the residents' responsibility. They are free to eat food provided by the house that has not been designated for the evening meal. Normally there will be a selection of cereals, eggs, cold cuts for sandwiches, soups, and often leftovers from the evening meals.
Volunteer Work | Various Times
Covered Bridge is often called upon to do volunteer work in the community. Our goal in the community is to be a good neighbor and to help our residents learn to work together to accomplish a common task. We provide services such as yard maintenance, snow removal, cutting and stacking wood. What we can help with depends on the skills that the current residents have. Also there are usually projects to be done on Covered Bridge property which residents are expected to get involved with.
Evening Meal | 5:30 p.m.
The evening meal is normally served around 5:30. Residents are responsible to check the chore list to see what night they are responsible for cooking dinner.
On Friday, residents will attend Celebrate Recovery, a faith-based 12 step meeting. The meeting runs from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and transportation and dinner will be provided.
Evening Groups | 6:30 p.m.
Depending on the day, evening groups may include Celebrate Recovery, instructional videos, bible study, movies or game night.
House Curfew & Lights Out | 10:00 p.m.
All residents are to be in their rooms from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. From 10:00 to 11:00 our residents can study, read, or chat quietly in their rooms. At 11:00, lights are out and quiet time is observed.
On Friday and Saturday, quiet time starts at 11:00 p.m. and lights out is midnight.
